Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Nooksack Planning Department to meet tribal needs in the areas of land acquisition and best use of tribally owned lands; economic development thereby improving the standard of living and employment opportunities for tribal members; tribal veteran support services and welfare; and to acquire funding in support of social and health services, land acquisition, and tribal construction endeavors.

WHAT WE DO

• Coordinate and facilitate tribal land transactions
  including, but not limited to the following
   

• Land purchases,  Fee -to-Trust conversions,
  document recording of deeds, easements, right-of
  ways, land partitions, etc., obtaining permits,  surveying, land appraisal & market analysis,  environment  assessments,  land use and economic developments activities.
   

• Maintain archive of tribal building & land records
  (deeds, Title Status Reports, probate documents,
  etc.) and maps (surveys, plans & as-builts,  plat maps,
  section & topo maps.
   

• Assist tribal departments with program development
  and strategy, grant writing and tribal veteran support
  services.
