General Description:
The Line Agent position’s
primary function is to
assist in the ensuring that
the Tribe’s gaming operation
is in compliance with the
Federal, State and Tribal
laws, regulations, controls
and policies. This position
will also provide assistance
reviewing and developing and
enforcing regulations,
controls, policies and
standards in the gaming
operation to ensure the
protection of tribal assets
in addition to daily,
weekly, monthly, quarterly
and annual property revenue
and compliance audits, to
include but not be limited
to, Gaming, Finance and Food
and Beverage.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Ensures that the
tribal gaming operation
adheres and complies with
required financial and
record
keeping laws,
regulations, controls,
policies and standards.
2. Reviews existing
and proposed regulations,
controls, policies and
standards for adherence and
compliance with Federal,
State and Tribal
requirements.
3. Assist in
development, enforcement and
drafting of gaming
regulations, controls,
policies and procedures.
4. Assist in
investigating and
documenting variances,
shortages and exceptions.
5. Ensures
compliance with agency
policies and procedures.
6. Prepare all
necessary incident reports.
7. Conduct various
compliance audits within all
departments at the property.
8. Conduct dealer,
cashier and supervisor
evaluations.
9. Conducts barring
of unwanted patrons.
10. Maintenance of
agency files and regulatory
databases, as required.
11. Places and
screens telephone calls and
refer to others as
appropriate.
12. Performs random
inspections of all gaming
equipment.
13. Works
cooperatively and fosters
teamwork by helping
co-workers with essential
functions.
14. Must maintain a
professional and
businesslike appearance and
manner.
15. Must maintain the
ability to process multiple
and diverse tasks.
16. Must be
respectful and sensitive to
the values and culture of
the Nooksack Indian Tribe.
17. Must comply with
Tribal alcohol and drug
policy.
18. Must be willing
to sign and adhere to the
Tribal Confidentiality
Policy.
19. Perform other
duties assigned by TGA
Director and/or Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Minimum of three
years casino experience with
an emphasis on Tribal Gaming
Regulatory experience OR a
Degree in Accounting or
Finance with at least two
years of auditing experience
OR two years of Law
Enforcement experience OR
ability to meet the years
experience requirements with
a combination of prior
experiences.
2. Possess a valid
Washington State Driver’s
License and to be insurable.
3. Excellent
interpersonal and
communication skills.
4. Good physical
condition.
5. Must be willing
to work non-traditional
schedules to include nights,
weekends and holidays.
6. Must possess high
school diploma or
equivalency.
7. Must be able to
successfully pass a written
report writing test.
8. Must be able to
pass a pre-employment drug
testing.
9. Must pass a
pre-employment background
screening.
10. Demonstrated
computer skills.
11. Must be willing
to participate in training
deemed necessary for the
position.
12. Must be able to
obtain and maintain Tribal
gaming certification.
13. Must be sensitive
to Tribal and cultural
traditions.
14. Work week may
exceed 40 hours.
15. Must be able to
handle difficult work
situations with management
and staff with diplomacy and
in a professional manner at
all times.
16. Must be willing
to sign and abide with
disclosure and
confidentiality agreements.
Required Physical, Mental
and Environmental Demands:
1.
Ability to lift and
carry upwards of 50 pounds.
2.
Manual dexterity and
coordination to operate
office equipment including a
10-key adding machine,
personal computers, fax
machine and photocopiers.
3.
Respond to visual and
aural cues.
4.
Read, write, speak
and understand English.
5.
Operate in mentally
and physically stressful
situations with composure.
6.
Must be able to bend,
reach, kneel, twist and grip
from assigned work areas.
7.
Must be able to
tolerate areas containing
secondary smoke, bright
lights and noise.
8.
Must be able to spend
extended periods of time
walking, standing or
sitting.
