About Us
The Nooksack Tribal TANF (N-TANF) began its
operation on May 1, 2005.
The Goal of N-TANF is to provide assistance
for needy families with children. It is too
provide parents or adult caregivers with job
preparation, work and work experience, and
support services. The program is intended to
assist needy families in becoming econo-mically
self-sufficient and not dependent on the
Nooksack TANF program for assistance.
An N-TANF applicant must be an enrolled member
of the Nooksack Indian Tribe or enrolled in any
federally recognized Indian Tribe or Alaska
Native tribe and residing in Whatcom County.
The Nooksack Tribal TANF serves Whatcom County
and those eligible clients residing North and
East of the Guide Meridian to that point that it
joins I-5 and eligible residents residing North
and East of I-5 and south to the county
boundary.
N-TANF Programs and Services
The Nooksack Tribal TANF provides basic services
to help the eligible recipients and their
families in achieving economic
self-sufficiency. Services may include:

* Job Search
* Child Care
*Emergency Services
* Supportive Services * Referrals *Other barrier removal

All are determined on a
case by case basis.
